Domain Hosting
" Where should I keep my domain? "
Great question. We can't tell you what to do, however we can give you the tools to make an intelligent decision. GoDaddy is the largest. We use them along with Moniker, NameBright and Enom in the USA and Fabulous located in Australia. But there are lots and lots of great registrars that have good service. We recommend you call their support department and get a call back. That alone will tell you something, correct? Ask to be set up with an account manager. Remember, you cannot expect to have the same level of service that is delivered to a client who has hundreds or thousands of domains, when you only have 1 or 2, even though some registrars do try. Click here for a list of domain name registrars. Domain name registration is approximately $9 - $35 per year for a dot com. Some of the new gTLD domains are quite pricey. Once at the registrar of your choice, make sure you place your domains on lock status. Locking helps prevent an unplanned transfer of the domains. What? - Yep, it happens. So does theft. |
